Carla graduated from Samford University with a music degree, specializing in piano, and she has also done masters level work in children’s guidance counseling. She retired as an elementary school music teacher, having taught in both Gadsden and Cullman city schools. Carla has many years’ additional experience in multiple churches throughout north and central Alabama as a music director at every level, as a pianist, and as the director of children, youth, and senior adult ministries and programs. Carla’s husband, Mike, is an Auburn graduate, a retired Army Colonel and retired senior officer for a state law enforcement agency. Mike has also served in a number of activities and leadership positions at the churches they have attended.
